Bear Says Goodnight

Bear was sleepy. It was time for bed. But first, Bear wanted to say goodnight to everyone.

Bear walked to the pond. "Goodnight, Frog!" said Bear. Frog jumped up. "Goodnight, Bear! Ribbit, ribbit!" Splash! Frog jumped into the water.

Bear walked to the big oak tree. "Goodnight, Owl!" said Bear. Owl opened one eye. "Goodnight, Bear! Hoo, hoo!" Owl fluffed her feathers.

Bear walked to the berry bush. "Goodnight, Rabbit!" said Bear. Rabbit wiggled her nose. "Goodnight, Bear! Hop, hop!" Rabbit snuggled into her burrow.

Bear walked to the tall grass. "Goodnight, Mouse!" said Bear. Mouse squeaked. "Goodnight, Bear! Squeak, squeak!" Mouse curled up in a tiny ball.

Now Bear had said goodnight to everyone. Bear yawned a big yawn. Bear climbed into his cozy cave.

The stars twinkled above. The moon shone bright. All the forest friends were safe and warm.

"Goodnight, Moon," whispered Bear. And Bear closed his eyes and dreamed of all his wonderful friends.
