Good Morning, Mirror!
A child says kind words to herself in the mirror and starts the day feeling confident.
Every morning, Priya walked to the bathroom. And every morning, she saw the mirror.
"Who is that?" Priya asked when she was very little.
"That's you!" said Mama. "That's beautiful Priya!"
Now Priya was bigger. She knew the mirror showed her. But sometimes mornings felt hard. Sometimes she felt small.
One day, Mama taught her a game. "Talk to the mirror," said Mama. "Say something nice to yourself."
Priya looked in the mirror. She felt silly. But she tried.
"Good morning, Priya!" she said.
The mirror Priya smiled back!
"You are brave," Priya said.
The mirror Priya stood a little taller!
"You are kind. You are smart. You can do hard things!"
Now mirror Priya was beaming!
Priya giggled. She felt warm inside. Like sunshine in her chest.
She tried it the next morning. And the next. And the next.
On the day she had to go to a new playgroup, she was scared. But she went to the mirror first.
"You are brave, Priya. You can make new friends."
She took a deep breath and smiled. And you know what? She did make a new friend that day.
All because she started her morning with kind words. To herself.
