The Rainbow Breakfast

A child discovers that eating colorful foods makes mornings magical.

Mia woke up and rubbed her eyes. "Good morning, tummy!" she said. Her tummy grumbled. It was hungry!

Mama said, "Let's make a rainbow breakfast today!"

"A rainbow?" said Mia. "Can we eat a rainbow?"

"Watch!" said Mama.

First came the red. Strawberries! "Red like a fire truck!" said Mia.

Then came orange. An orange slice! "Round like the sun!" said Mia.

Then yellow. A banana! "Curved like a smile!" said Mia.

Then green. Tiny broccoli trees! Mia made a face. But she tried one. "Crunchy!" she said. Not bad!

Then blue. Blueberries! "Tiny like buttons!" said Mia.

Then purple. Grape juice in a cup! "Purple like a princess!" said Mia.

Mia looked at her plate. All the colors! It really was a rainbow!

She ate every single bite. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Yum, yum, yum!

"I feel strong!" said Mia, flexing her tiny arm. "I feel happy!"

Mama smiled. "That's the magic of a rainbow breakfast. Colors make you grow big and strong!"

Mia hugged Mama. "Can we make a rainbow breakfast tomorrow too?"

"Every morning, my love. Every morning."
