The Boy Who Wasn't Afraid
A young boy walks through a quiet forest and discovers his own courage.
A boy stood at the edge of the forest. The trees were tall. The path was dark. It was very quiet.
"Should I go?" asked the boy. His heart was beating fast. Thump, thump, thump.
The boy looked at the path. He remembered what his grandmother always said: "Courage is not about not being scared. Courage is walking forward even when you are."
The boy took one step. Then another. And another.
The forest was not so scary. A bird sang a pretty song. A butterfly flew beside him. A bunny peeked out from behind a bush and wiggled its nose.
The boy walked deeper into the forest. The trees made cool shade. Sunlight came through the leaves like golden coins.
He heard a stream. He found it โ a beautiful, sparkling stream with smooth stones and tiny fish.
The boy sat by the stream and smiled. He had been afraid. But he had walked forward anyway. And he had found something beautiful.
"I was brave," said the boy softly. "And the forest was kind to me."
He walked home with his head held high and his heart feeling warm.
Goodnight, brave boy. Goodnight.
