The Firefly in the Dark

A tiny firefly lights up the dark forest and inspires others to shine too.

Deep in the forest, it was very, very dark. So dark that you could not see your hand in front of your face.

All the animals were hiding. "It is too dark," said the rabbit. "I cannot find my way," said the deer.

Then โ€” a tiny light appeared. It was small. Very, very small. Just a dot of golden light.

It was a little firefly!

"I will shine," said the firefly. It glowed as bright as it could. Its tiny light pushed back the darkness, just a little bit.

Another firefly saw the light. "I want to shine too!" And it started to glow.

Then another firefly joined. And another. And another!

Soon, the whole forest was filled with beautiful, twinkling lights. Everywhere! In the trees, near the stream, above the flowers.

"I can see!" said the rabbit happily. "I found my way!" said the deer.

The first little firefly smiled. It was just one tiny light. But it had started something beautiful.

"Even a small light can chase away the dark," whispered the firefly.

The forest twinkled softly as all the animals found their way home.

Goodnight, brave little firefly. Goodnight.
