The Garden Surprise
Two friends plant seeds and learn that good things take patience and care.
Tara and Jin planted sunflower seeds in the garden one Saturday morning. They dug little holes, dropped in the seeds, and patted the soil gently.
"When will the flowers come?" asked Jin.
"Tomorrow?" said Tara hopefully.
They checked the next morning. Nothing. Just dirt.
"Maybe we need to water them," said Tara. So they watered the soil with a little watering can, taking turns.
They checked the next morning. Still nothing.
"Maybe they need a song," said Jin. So they sang a silly made-up song: "Grow, little seed, grow! The sun says hello!"
They checked the next morning. A tiny green sprout peeked through the soil!
"JIN! COME LOOK!" Tara shouted across the fence.
Jin ran over, still in pajamas. They both knelt down and stared at the little sprout. It was so small and so brave.
Every morning after that, they checked together. They watered together. They sang their silly song together. And the sprout grew taller and taller.
One morning, a bright yellow sunflower opened up. It was as big as Tara's face!
"We did this together," said Jin.
"Best team ever," said Tara.
They high-fived over the sunflower. Some of the best things in life take time, care, and a good friend by your side.
