The Giving Bird
A little bird shares its food with hungry baby birds.
A little bird flew through the forest. It was a bright blue bird with soft feathers. It was looking for food.
The bird found some berries! Red, juicy berries. One, two, three, four, five berries. The bird was so happy.
Then the bird heard a sound. Cheep! Cheep! Cheep!
The bird looked down. There were three baby birds in a nest. They were tiny. Their mouths were wide open. They were hungry.
The bird looked at its berries. Five berries. Three baby birds. What should the bird do?
The bird flew down to the nest. "Here you go, little ones," said the bird. It gave each baby bird a berry. One berry for the first baby. One berry for the second baby. One berry for the third baby.
The babies chirped happily! Their tummies were full. They snuggled together in their nest.
The bird still had two berries left. It ate them slowly, feeling proud and warm inside.
"Sharing is caring," sang the bird. And it flew home to its own cozy nest.
Goodnight, giving bird. Goodnight.
