The Rainy Day Walker
A child discovers that rainy days can be the most fun days of all.
Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. It was raining outside. The sky was grey. The clouds were heavy.
"Oh no," said the child, looking out the window. "I cannot play outside today."
But then the child had an idea! "I will wear my rain boots!" Big, yellow rain boots. Splash-proof!
The child put on a raincoat too. A bright red raincoat. And grabbed a blue umbrella.
Outside, the rain was falling softly. The child took one step. Splash! A tiny puddle!
The child took another step. SPLASH! A big puddle! Water went everywhere!
"This is so fun!" laughed the child. Splash! Splash! Splash!
The rain felt cool on the child's face. The puddles were like little mirrors, reflecting the sky. A worm wiggled by and said hello.
The child jumped and jumped and jumped. The biggest splash of all!
"Rain is not bad," said the child. "Rain is wonderful!"
When the child went back inside, cheeks were rosy and smiles were wide. A cup of warm cocoa was waiting.
"What a perfect day," said the child happily.
Goodnight, rainy day walker. Goodnight.
